Original artwork by Jotam Schoeman. Bedoelende Studio, Cape Town.
Page four. Three panels, three altitudes.
Above: the cable car crossing toward the mountain. Below it: the Book Lounge on Roeland Street, one of Cape Town's most loved independent bookshops, wedged between concrete blocks. Below that: fynbos from a bee's point of view - close enough to lose the city entirely.
Top to bottom, the page moves from the mechanical to the civic to the botanical. Cape Town contains all three within walking distance of each other.
Pencil on paper, enlarged to A1 and finished with subtle digital colour. At this scale the pencil marks themselves become part of what you're looking at.
The original A4 drawing is available as a separate framed work. Limited edition of 8 prints. Signed by Jotam Schoeman. Certificate of authenticity included. Printed on True Rag giclée by Wet Ink, Cape Town.
