Original artwork by Jotam Schoeman. Bedoelende Studio, Cape Town.
In 2014 Jotam walked through inner-city Johannesburg alone, studying the city's people and architecture for an exhibition called Bedoelende Stad Studies: Johannesburg 2014 at the Rubixcube Gallery for his first solo-exhibition.
On End Street he photographed this abandoned building. Near here he was robbed - a street game, three cups, a ball, and men who made clear the rules were not his to argue with. He walked away without his phone. Later he came back with his skateboard. They were gone.
Hand-drawn cross hatching with pen on paper, and original coffee stains. The original artwork now hangs in the studio of an acclaimed music producer in London.
